Welcome!
Thank you so much again for joining me for “DRAW! 21 Days Towards Freeing Your Creative Self.”
This class will be fast-paced, but I want you to feel absolutely NO STRESS about that! Don’t worry if you fall behind a little bit; the class materials will be up and available to you “forever” for you to access and work at your own pace.
Making that first mark can be the hardest part, so we will start with exercises to help you shed your inhibitions, loosen your hand and eyes, and simply have fun filling the blank page.
From there we will progress to drawing from life, from photos, and imagination using a variety of techniques and materials. Each assignment is designed to help you free your individual creative self through the act of drawing.

Supplies
For the first two weeks we will be working smaller, so any paper around letter-size (8.5″ x 11″ U.S.) will work great. I go through a lot of paper, so I find that white “card” or “cover” stock from the office supply store works great. I happen to like this Georgia-Pacific brand from Walmart, but honestly, any kind of paper will work! You can also purchase drawing paper pad at any art supply store.
During the last week we will work a larger (11″x14″ is the size I like to work with). Something like this will work well (but again, if you have other paper already on hand, it will probably work great!)
Nuts & Bolts
Here’s how this online class works:
- As a self-study class, so you have access to all of the lessons right now and can work the lessons on your own timetable.
- You have indefinite access to this class.
- You can (optionally) share your work with Carla via email or via the class FLICKR group page. Since this is now a self-study class, you will need to let Carla know if you upload work, as she doesn’t check the Facebook page as regularly.
- Class fee is good for participants living in a single household.
